Daigo in Palo Alto continues to impress every time we visit. We decided to skip the omakase and went all in ordering off the menu, getting two of everything and even three of a few standout dishes. That turned out to be the move. The abalone dish is easily one of the best things we’ve ever eaten. Perfectly prepared, rich, and layered with flavor. It’s the kind of dish you keep thinking about long after the meal ends. What really stands out is the consistency. Both visits delivered the same high level of freshness, execution, and attention to detail across every plate. Nothing felt rushed or overlooked. The sake flight was another highlight, thoughtfully curated and pairing effortlessly with the variety of dishes we ordered. It elevated the entire experience and gave us a chance to explore different profiles alongside the food. If you’re debating omakase versus ordering yourself, don’t hesitate to explore the menu. I was visiting my nephew and he asked for sushi. I looked around to find a reasonable Omakase, but still had great flavors. This place was recommended. It’s hidden off the side of the road, so people must know about it because it was busy. I was able to make a reservation by texting them. We got the Omakase and everything we had was delicious. It was fresh and the flavors for very good. It was a lot of food as well. It was the 18 items I believe. I opted in for the extra dessert which was Yuzu lemon cheesecake. $13 for the dessert for the size you get I thought it was a little pricey. Everything else was delicious. Service was great as well. We always had water in our glass. Glad I got to check out this little gem.

Daigo’s food is absolutely delicious. The ji kimedai was outstanding, and the Homemade ice cream dessert (MUST TRY!!) at the end was the perfect finish. It’s easily one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve had in the Bay Area in this price range.

Daigo is an outstanding sushi spot where everything—from the food to the atmosphere—is thoughtfully curated. The music sets the perfect tone for the experience, and the stars of the show, Kenny and Eric, are truly phenomenal. Their craftsmanship is evident in every piece of nigiri—each bite is perfectly balanced, satisfying, and made with incredible precision. If you appreciate high-level sushi with great vibes, Daigo is a must-visit.

One of the best hidden spot in Palo Alto. Staffs are super friendly and attentive. They have a very good list of fish and we decided to order off the menu over their Omakase. The mushroom tempura is crispy on the outside and soft and juicy inside. The sushi are prepared fresh cut, toasted, flamed, sauced. Very tasty. Each piece are good size with small amount of rice at the bottom, that’s how we like it. There are many sakes to choose from and the prices are very reasonable.
